Training
A photography training system built on practice, closeness and material work with the image.
Llumàtics structures its workshops around analogue photography understood as a complete process: from the initial exposure to the final print, covering both traditional techniques and experimental practices.
Workshops are organised around five thematic areas that allow students to build a coherent learning path, avoiding the fragmentation common in this type of offer.
All workshops at Llumàtics are private, with a maximum of four students per session. This reduced format allows close, individual support adapted to each participant’s pace and interests, and guarantees a real hands-on experience with the darkroom and equipment.
Llumàtics also runs an external workshops programme, either on commission or through ongoing collaborations with art centres, photography schools and secondary schools. Notable is the relationship with Cameras & Films (formerly the Lomography Embassy Barcelona), where large format portrait courses are taught — using a late 19th-century camera and working directly on photosensitive paper —, alongside black and white film developing courses and experimental developing workshops.
